Privacy Policy & AdSense Disclosures
Your privacy is our foundational priority. CalmSnug is engineered with strict client-side data isolation: your photos and creative assets never leave your browser sandbox. This document details our data handling practices, cookie policies, third-party advertising disclosures, and consumer rights under GDPR and CCPA.
1. Zero-Server Image Processing Guarantee
CalmSnug operates under a strict zero-server upload architecture. When you open an image in our studio workbench, your browser reads the file directly from your local filesystem into client-side RAM using the W3C File and FileReader APIs.
- No Remote Storage: Images, canvas snapshots, and export archives are processed entirely on your machine via HTML5 Canvas 2D, WebGL fragment shaders, and client-side JSZip.
- Zero Transmission: We do not upload, transmit, duplicate, analyze, or train machine learning models on your uploaded photography.
- Isolated From Third Parties: Third-party advertising partners and analytics scripts have zero programmatic access to your canvas buffers or image pixels.
2. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures
CalmSnug uses Google AdSense to display advertisements across our website. These advertisements help fund continuous software maintenance, domain hosting, and engineering while keeping our entire tool suite 100% free of charge for users worldwide.
Mandatory Google AdSense Compliance Disclosures:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on a user's prior visits to CalmSnug or other websites across the Internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (such as DoubleClick cookies) enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to CalmSnug and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance (www.aboutads.info) or the Network Advertising Initiative (www.networkadvertising.org).
- For detailed information on how Google manages and protects data in its advertising products, please consult How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
3. Cookies & Browser Storage Technologies
A cookie is a small piece of data stored on your device by your web browser. CalmSnug and our partners use cookies and browser storage for the following categories:
| Category | Purpose | Provider | Storage Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Maintains basic site navigation, dark/light theme state, and security routing. | CalmSnug | Local Memory |
| Functional Preferences | Remembers your preferred UI layout aesthetic and workspace choices across reloads. | CalmSnug | localStorage |
| Advertising & Measurement | Delivers relevant advertisements, limits ad repetition, and measures campaign performance. | Google AdSense | HTTP Cookie |
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary browser functions may affect the visual persistence of your layout preferences.
4. Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA & UK Users)
If you reside within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), you possess specific statutory rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and UK GDPR:
- Right of Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request restriction of personal data processing under certain conditions.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request transfer of collected data to another organization.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may adjust your consent preferences at any time.
Because CalmSnug does not require user accounts and processes images locally in the browser without server storage, we do not hold personal identification profiles. For any GDPR inquiries, reach our Data Protection contact at: [email protected].
5. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents are entitled to specific disclosures:
- We Do Not Sell Personal Information: CalmSnug does not sell personal information, user photography, or identity records to data brokers or third parties for monetary compensation.
- Right to Know & Delete: You have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and request deletion.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against you, deny access, or alter tool performance because you exercise your privacy rights.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Data: CalmSnug collects zero sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, health records, biometric signatures, or financial data).
6. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
CalmSnug is designed for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected], and we will promptly ensure any such data is removed.
7. Standard Log Files & Analytics
Like most websites, our web hosting infrastructure automatically logs basic, non-personally identifiable diagnostic data when web pages are retrieved. These logs may include IP addresses (anonymized), browser types, referring/exit pages, operating systems, and timestamps.
This information is used strictly to analyze aggregate web traffic trends, administer technical uptime, and diagnose network security incidents.
8. Updates to This Policy & Contact Information
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect advancements in technology, legislative changes, or Google AdSense policy refinements. Any revisions will be published here with an updated “Last Updated” date.
